We worked with Ana to rebrand her workshop and get it ready for the growth ahead. One of the cultures most associated with nature, happiness and freedom is the Hawaiian culture. Its philosophy, created thousands of years ago, is based on 7 principles of life, summarized in a single word that means "secret" or "hidden knowledge". It is the primordial wisdom about life and the world around us. That word is "huna" and also the new name of the brand. We also created the tagline "Crafting human nature", a metaphor that ties the brand's mission to the products. We created a visual identity that uses earthy, natural colors. The logo represents a leaf with a fingerprint pattern to show the connection between humankind and the earth. It was carefully thought-out to print well on small sizes and to be embossed on leather. In print and digital layouts we used Montserrat Alternates for its clarity and quirky nature. We combined it subtle fingerprint insertions and colors that stand out but are not so vibrant as to feel artificial.
